I use a sheet of paper, Draw a rectangle and then push the the screws in the stared bits on the paper, That way I can put every screw back in the hole it came from. It's very easy to install it too, just turn it off put it on a non static surface and watch where you take the screws out, as 3 are different lengths. If you have a late 2011 Macbook pro 13" then have no fear, this will work. I havent put it through a lengthy test yet, but the 8gb I brought a year ago has had some hard tests.Īnyway. In my other slot I also have Timetec RAM, and that has been in about a year, now I've matched it with the correct amount (having different size RAM in slots slows the Mac down a bit) so it runs a bit faster. Timetec's RAM is well worth the money and getting some back street computer shop to do it for me for 100 quid. It feels faster though and my fan doesnt get faster when I put it through a decent test. It has increased my score by about 40 odd, but it wasnt a huge jump up from 10gb to 16gb. It makes startup time 40 seconds faster and having done Nova Benchmarking tests before and after, plus timing how long it takes to load paid off. I used to have 8, then 10, now 16gb of DDR3 RAM. Timetec's RAM is solid and easy to put in. I hadn't changed any RAM in my Macbook pro for a few years and it's coming it the end of it life as updates have stopped and I cant seem to install High Sierra.Īnyway that isnt their fault.
